Journal articles can be submitted via email to info@csiac.org. Please take a moment to review the details of the CSIAC’s Article Submission Policy presented below.
Author Bios and Contact Information
The CSIAC Journal is a quarterly publication released to the Science and Technology (S&T) community highlighting recent developments in DoD Research, Development, test and Evaluation (RDT&E), as well as policies and standards, and best practices/lessons learned from case histories. CSIAC accepts articles submitted by the professional community for consideration, performing a review and assisting candidate authors in creating the final draft. Given the quantity of submissions, CSIAC cannot guarantee publication within a fixed time frame. Note that CSIAC does not pay for articles published.
Copyright
Submittal of an original and previously unpublished article constitutes a transfer of ownership for First Publication Rights for a period of ninety days following publication. After this ninety-day period full copyright ownership returns to the author. CSIAC always grants permission to reprint or distribute the article once published, as long as attribution is provided for CSIAC as the publisher and the Journal issue in which the article appeared is cited. The primary reason for CSIAC holding the copyright is to ensure that the same article is not published simultaneously in other trade journals. CSIAC additionally uploads articles published in the Journal to DTIC’s Research and Engineering (R&E) Gateway so that the material can be later retrieved by the defense community.
The Journal enjoys a reputation of outstanding quality and value.
For Invited Authors
CSIAC typically allocates one month for an author to prepare an initial draft. Then, upon receipt of an initial draft, the Editorial Board reviews the article and works with the author to create a final draft; we allow 2 to 3 weeks for this process. CSIAC expects to have a final draft of the article ready for publication no later than 2 months after the author accepts the initial invitation.
For some Journal issues, CSIAC has a Guest Editor (based on the Journal’s technical focus) who leads the review process and interfaces with the individual authors. If you have been invited by a Guest Editor, you will submit your article directly to that individual and follow their instructions. Otherwise, articles should be emailed to Rick Nettles, Managing Editor for the Journal. Contact information is provided below.
All articles will be cleared through DTIC’s public affairs office for unlimited distribution public release approval. Please avoid inclusion of material that is classified, for official use only, or military critical technology in any way.
