A new application that is now available on the appstore across Apple and Android has raised many privacy concerns. The app consists of a COVID-19 tracker that alerts you when you have come in close contact with other person in the community that has tested positive with COVID-19. The app allows you to see unverified reports in your neighborhood. The main concern amongst the community is that the information could be false. Another concern is that the app tracks your every location at all times. Public safety experts and lawmakers have criticized the app for “stirring panic in communities.”
