The first of its kind, a cyber-attack on the US grid is being reported to have happened a couple of months back. It wasn’t major, as it didn’t cause any blackouts, but it did produce some signal outages on some “low impact” control center for a couple of minutes. It’s being said that this attack was caused due to an known security flaw in older firewalls, which has been patched.
