According to NexusGuard’s DDoS Threat Report from 2018 Q4 an international law enforcement team crackdown led to an 85% decrease in the average size of DDoS attacks on a year-on-year basis. But 2019 is experiencing a new wave DDoS attacks. Some of the current culprits are a China based criminal group using a botnet, a Dutch based hosting provider sheltering tens of IoT botnets, and a World of Warcraft player arrested for orchestrating DDoS attacks against the games’ servers.
