Enhance cybersecurity awareness and survivability for DoD, industry partners, and academia in the face of the ever-increasing threat of cyber attacks. Cybersecurity (CS) includes managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes, including analog and physical form. CS includes information availability, identification and authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation as well as the economic considerations with respect to selection of CS techniques, CS processes, and industry trends.
Developments in Internet of Things and Cyber Security
With the proliferation of IoT devicesm which is now expected to reach the region of 50 billion devices connected by 2020, what developments, mitigations and or resources are available now and do you think will be needed, both from a consumer and enterprise perspectives to better mitigate the threats?
I personally think AI would be greatly beneficial from the consumer perspective in enabling the IoT devices to protect themselves either through self patching or hardening without necessarily relying on the expertise of the consumer to patch or update router firmware for example which can be very perplexing for the average Joe!
I would like to know the community’s thoughts on this, IoT and the threat implications. Would be great if anyone has additional resources or information they could share on this too.
Thanks in advance.
