Disappearing Covid-19 app alerts cause alarm

Smartphone users have been concerned over the NHS Covid-19 app due to it’s disturbing alerts that quickly vanish. The app generates the alerts by the Apple and Google frameworks rather than the app itself. This is what is causing the false alarming notifications. A notification saying “Possible Covid-19 exposure. Someone you were near reported having Covid-19. Exposure date, duration and signal strength have been saved.” but when the user clicks on the notification the app will not open and it will disappear. Users look at the FAQ’s on the app and read that if you receive this notification you should self-isolate yourself for 14 days. This is obviously very confusing and could be false information. The app developers are refusing to fix the problem because it has not been an issue which continues to cause concerns. Apple has stated that this should not be to tricky to fix.
