Within the week, the parent company to the Dunkin brand has agreed to upgrade their cyber security. Along with that, they have also agreed to pay $650,000 in fines for not telling people their information may have been compromised within the time period of 2015-2018. Dunkin does not acknowledge any wrong doing. New York Attorney General Letitia James stated “For years, Dunkin’ hid the truth and failed to protect the security of its customers, who were left paying the bill,” and “It’s time to make amends and finally fill the holes in Dunkin’s’ cybersecurity.”
