Enhance cybersecurity awareness and survivability for DoD, industry partners, and academia in the face of the ever-increasing threat of cyber attacks. Cybersecurity (CS) includes managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes, including analog and physical form. CS includes information availability, identification and authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation as well as the economic considerations with respect to selection of CS techniques, CS processes, and industry trends.

There were over a 100 smart irrigation systems exposed online without a password, which allowed attackers to access and tamper with the water irrigation programs for crops, tree plantations, cities, and building complexes. The smart irrigation systems were running ICC PRO which is a smart irrigation system designed by Motorola. The ICC PRO systems were installed and left at default settings, which didn’t include a password for the user which gave everyone control of the IoT smart irrigation systems.
These IoT systems can be found by using IoT search engines like Shodan. The Attackers could pause or stop watering events, change the settings, control the water quantity and pressure delivered to pumps, or lock irrigation systems by deleting users.https://www.zdnet.com/article/over-100-irrigation-systems-left-exposed-online-without-a-password/
