Enhance cybersecurity awareness and survivability for DoD, industry partners, and academia in the face of the ever-increasing threat of cyber attacks. Cybersecurity (CS) includes managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes, including analog and physical form. CS includes information availability, identification and authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation as well as the economic considerations with respect to selection of CS techniques, CS processes, and industry trends.

The Emotet Botnet is todays biggest threat, it is the worlds largest malware botnet, The botnet is spread through phishing emails, which target state and local governments. When the malicious botnet infection is launched on the computer, it guesses admin credentials and allows the attackers to write to remotely shared drives using the SMB file sharing protocol. Emotet is spread by using password protected zip attachments, to bypass email security gateways. The Emotet botnet also hijacks email threads by using the infected host to get an existing email chain, which then answers the thread and gives another malicious document that is attached into the email.
