A new exploit could potentially steal encrypted data was discovered pertaining to CPU architecture. By taking advantage of hyper-threading attackers could view other information being processed by the CPU. A vulnerability code named PortSmash does exactly that. One way to protect against the flaw is to disable SMT hyper-threading.
