Large email extortion campaign underway

While believing and paying ransomware demands are completely up to the victim’s discretion, this particular campaign is different. Why? Because it’s fake. The email extortion campaign sends an email to its victim, claiming that they were recorded while doing acts that are NSFW, and the video(s) will be sent to the victim’s contacts if they don’t pay $1900 in BTC. To add to the scare, many times the attackers claim that they know the victim’s passwords, and they actually do with proof in the email. However, this information is obtained from data breaches, not a compromised PC. These messages should be disregarded.
