Microsoft claims that observed from Iranian hacking group, (Phosphorus) more than 2,700 attempts to identify personal email addresses that belonged to U.S. presidential candidates and their party. This was attempted by primarily social engineering including “using the group to launch cyber attacks against government agency and businesses, trick users into downloading malicious software that appeared to be authentic, trick visitors into giving up codes that are used for two-factor authentication”.
