Enhance cybersecurity awareness and survivability for DoD, industry partners, and academia in the face of the ever-increasing threat of cyber attacks. Cybersecurity (CS) includes managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes, including analog and physical form. CS includes information availability, identification and authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation as well as the economic considerations with respect to selection of CS techniques, CS processes, and industry trends.

In a recent survey, it was revealed that only about 24% of enterprises optimize cyber-attack prevention capabilities. This fact is still apparent even with the 70% security professionals who believe that having the ability to effectively prevent cyber-attacks strengthens posture. In addition, the study reveals that the majority of companies prioritize cyber-attack detection and containment over prevention methods. In the report, the respondents said that it would waste their limited budget to use prevention methods rather than containment methods. They also went on to say that they would be able to contain the attack after it happened and that it would be too difficult to achieve prevention in the cybersecurity lifecycle. It is more effective of more companies adopt more preventative solutions and will result in a significant cost reduction and a lower overall investment.
