According to data collected from CyberX between October 2018 and October 2019, 62% of devices around the world are still running outdated versions of Windows. The use of outdated Windows versions pose a serious risk, as it makes it easier for attackers to compromise systems. CyberX often finds malware on production networks, which is largely due to unsupported Windows operating systems.

This is a serious matter that’s not going to correct via processes that consider the human element alone. Maybe OS creators should be building a process into their products that “turn’off automatically” once support is no longer available? This Privacy by Design thought process might save the Nation’s businesses billons of dollars in time and treasure.
