Enhance cybersecurity awareness and survivability for DoD, industry partners, and academia in the face of the ever-increasing threat of cyber attacks. Cybersecurity (CS) includes managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes, including analog and physical form. CS includes information availability, identification and authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation as well as the economic considerations with respect to selection of CS techniques, CS processes, and industry trends.

The link above will bring you to an article that is related to the second project my CI212 class is working on. The article is about intrusion prevention systems and what to consider when trying to implement one. The article discusses where the system will operate the best on a network and emphasizes that the IPS needs to be able to detect threats at reasonable speeds. This article pairs well with my current project because the project focuses on the software configuration of the IPS and not physical configuration. I did not know how useful an IPS is at ensuring a system doesn’t have an hidden threats until recently but I believe everyone should be aware of the benefits of this system and how to use it properly.
