An elderly woman attempted to purchase vitamins on a website that used what she thought was a legit PayPal prompt, but it turned out to be fraudulent. When she contacted PayPal to report the fraud and ask for her money back, PayPal denied her claim. She contacted the local news, and PayPal responded by issuing her a ‘goodwill refund,’ which is a way to save face in this situation.
