RYUK related Ransomware targeting confidential information

The newly discovered ransomware has a different aim than it’s supposed relative RYUK, this malware actively seeks out and attempts to steal files from the user before they can be encrypted. The targeted information that is searched are .docx and .xlsx file with a file name that matches a name on certain list of strings like “confidential” or “military”, even a few of the U.S. top baby names for that given year. All of the information is uploaded via FTP to a server and we can only assume what happens to it beyond that point.
