Enhance cybersecurity awareness and survivability for DoD, industry partners, and academia in the face of the ever-increasing threat of cyber attacks. Cybersecurity (CS) includes managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes, including analog and physical form. CS includes information availability, identification and authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation as well as the economic considerations with respect to selection of CS techniques, CS processes, and industry trends.

There is lots of discussions within our organisation at the moment about the SOC (Security Operations Center) and the NOC (Network Operations Center). Like many organisations being driven to cut costs and outsource our security team wants to outsource both; I disagree with this idea of outsourcing both not sure what your thoughts are.
NOC – Can be outsourced and managed via SLA’s and clear processes.
SOC – In my view should remain internally, can be complimented with consultants on your payroll which you can manage but not outsourced as it is too critical.
