The Bureau Violated Privacy of American Citizens

In an October 2018 ruling, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court(FISC) proved the FBI illegally searched for information about American citizens for program Section 702. This program, made primarily for the NSA, allows a user to search for terrorism threats, but was used by FBI agents to find information about themselves, their families, and friends. The issue made its way to court because the agents clearly violated their own rules and the Fourth Amendment. This ruling just became available due to FISC not being able to release the information, as a means of protecting national security through the FIS Act of 1978.
