The UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport and National Cyber Security Centre have come together to create a set of three new laws to help secure its citizens from cyber attacks as the number of Internet of Things products increases. These laws are that all passwords must be made unique and not resettable to a factory standard, that the minimum date for which security procedures for the device will be available to the public at time of sale, and that a point of contact be made available so any vulnerabilities can be reported by anyone.
