Dr. Bertrand Cambou, a full tenured Professor at Northern Arizona University (NAU), is teaching graduate classes in nanoelectronics, cryptography, and cybersecurity. He is the Principal Investigator (PI) of research programs funded by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and the Navy in ternary cryptography, the use of nanotechnologies for cybersecurity, post quantum cryptography, and highly secured blockchain technology. He is also co-PI of long research programs funded by the National Science Foundation, and Industry. With 80 granted and pending patents, he is an Invention Ambassador of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). In 2019, he was elected senior member of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). From 2002 to 2014, he worked as a senior executive in Silicon Valley, at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), SST, and Crocus Technology. From 1999 to 2002, he was the president of Gemplus Software developing hardware security. From 1984 to 1999, he worked at Motorola where he was recognized as a distinguished innovator, and a technical and scientific advisor of the corporation’s Board of Directors. He holds a Doctorate degree in Electronics from Paris-South University, an Electrical Engineering degree from Supelec-Paris, and a Master degree in Physics from Toulouse-III University.
