Esther Oprins (PhD) is a Senior Research Scientist at TNO, department Training and Performance Innovations. She conducts research on education and training mainly in the military and aviation domain. Subjects of research are retention and skill decay, validation of training interventions (e.g. with simulators or serious games), personnel selection, assessment and measurement, and new learning solutions such as personalized learning and learning analytics. She is currently program manager of a five-year research program ‘Flexible education and individual training for the future’ for the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
