Von Welch is Director of Indiana University’s Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research (CACR) and serves as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Software Assurance Marketplace (SWAMP). In this role, he leads the definition and implementation of the cybersecurity program to manage risks to the SWAMP and its user community. Welch has a 20-year history of applying research to enhance operational cybersecurity. His previous positions include managing cybersecurity operations, research and development at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, and serving as the leader for networking, operations, and security of the TeraGrid Project.
