Adoption of cloud computing requires a thorough understanding of its purpose, characteristics, underlying technologies, service models, and the standards that govern its deployment. This webinar will discuss the fundamental features of cloud computing, service models, deployment models, business models, and provide a brief overview of major providers. Further discussion will focus on the interpretation and implementation of cloud computing standards, beginning with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and continuing with emerging FedRAMP Plus requirements. The review of FedRAMP Plus requirements will use the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) requirements to illustrate these requirements, identify errors, describe possible conflicts with FedRAMP standards, and understand their weaknesses. This webinar, in combination with the CSIAC Report: Cloud Computing for the Government Sector, will provide the foundational knowledge needed for understanding and compliance in this rapidly evolving environment.
